HE LIVES!

By Chase

In youth on Wednesday nights we have been teaching the kids apologetics. No, apologetics is not teaching them how to say, “I’m sorry”, (though most
of them probably need to be taught that too lol) but it is teaching them how to defend their faith. Defending our faith is something that is very important
as a Christian and it is something that a lot of Christians don’t know how to do. But, after reading about the thousands of manuscripts, from thousands
of years ago, that prove our bible to be accurate today, and reading about all of the evidence that archeologists have found that, down to smallest
detail, line up with the word of God, I was reminded of something. I was reminded that even though all of that evidence is good and important, we
have something even greater and even more important. If tomorrow morning we woke up and all the manuscripts, buildings, and bibles we have as
evidence were gone, we would still have something that can never be taken away! We have a personal relationship with The one true God! We have
Jesus Christ LIVING inside of us and walking with us everywhere we go! The apostle Paul said this in Philippians:

Philippians 3:7-8
7But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing
greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things.

Even though Paul was talking about all the accomplishments in his life, and how compared to knowing Christ they meant nothing to him, I find that
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING compares to personally knowing Christ Jesus!! This means no tangible evidence compares to the evidence that lives inside of
you! This is the greatest, most important evidence you can have! So, if you are reading this and you don’t know for sure if you have Jesus living inside
of you, or maybe you know for sure you don’t have Jesus in your life, I have something important to tell you....but before I tell you that, I have a story
I'm reminded of.

A couple of years ago, sometime in the middle of February, we had an extremely cold day here in Texas. It was “snowing”, and because of the “snow”,
school was canceled. I woke up that morning saw that school was canceled, and got extremely excited that I was going to get to spend my WHOLE day
hanging out with my best friend at his house. I called my friend and told him I was going to come over. Since I knew that we would be inside all day I
decided to just put on some basketball shorts and my flip flops and run to the car. A few minutes later I pulled up to his house, ran as fast as I could to
the front door, rang the door bell and started doing the “its cold outside and I’m in shorts and flip flops dace”. Needless to say, my friend wasn’t as
excited about me coming over as he was about getting to sleep longer. I stood there BANGING on the front door, the back door, his window, the wall
right next to his bed, and calling his phone about a million times, all while freezing my butt off in the extremely cold weather for Texas. After about ten
minutes I was so mad and cold that I decided to leave. I ran back to my car and peeled out down the street (not the best idea when the roads are
frozen over). You might be asking, “What does this story have to do with anything”? I’m glad you asked!! You see Jesus is infinitely more excited about
coming over to your house than I was about going to my friends. Right now He is standing at the door of your heart, no matter the circumstances in
your life, knocking on the door just waiting for you to wake up and let him in! The greatest part about it is, He isn’t going to get mad and storm off! He
will be there knocking and waiting for the day that you let him in. There is NOTHING greater than personally knowing Jesus Christ and letting him live
inside of you, and there has never been a better time to let him in than NOW!

If you don’t know for sure that you have that personal relationship with Jesus and you want it, now is that time to get it! It’s as simple as saying,
“Jesus, I’m sorry for shutting you out of my life for as long as I have. Please come into my life and live in me. I promise to follow you and any direction
you want me to go with my life.” When Jesus comes into your life and changes you from the inside out, you have THE greatest piece of evidence that
he lives that you could ever have. You cannot be told it doesn’t exist and it cannot be taken from you!
